Helpful Advice
You will need to make an appointment to register a death. A medical certificate will be issued by a G.P or medical professional in the event of a someone passing away, however if the death is referred to the coroner this may not always apply. The coroners officer will always offer advice and support in this case were required. You will need to take the medical certificate to the district registrar were the death has occurred.
Other information the registrar may require is listed below:
- Date and place of birth if the deceased
- Full name of deceased
- Date of birth
- Place of death
- Occupation or if retired
- If married the date of birth of surviving widow/widower
